Mostly known for its conflicts caused by drug trafficking, Mexico faces greater issues concerning its government. Mexico's drug problems stems from its geographical location between the United States and South American. Due to the heavy drug trade between these two areas, Mexico stands between major drug routes for cocaine, heroin, and marijuana. Because of this trade, the Mexican government is plagued with corruption from the constant greed among government officials. With the judiciary and police corrupted, the amount of violent crimes in urban areas of Mexico only increase. Police officers are likely to fall under the pressure of bribes from criminals due to their poor income. With the corruption included with drug trafficking through Mexico, violent crimes will continue to ravage cities until the government develops itself as a stable democracy.
